Holiday fun! Glad its over!

We have been rather busy the month of December.Jon just came back from Iraq. He was in Utah for some visiting and wanted to go to Wendover. So we loaded up the truck and took the hour or so drive to the western side of Utah. The weather hasn't been all that nice so I am happy we made it there and back in one piece. Needless to say, we all drove out of Wendover with lighter wallets but the time was fun!
The Graham kids decorated one of the Christmas trees we have in our house. Even though the ornaments were a little grouped and not so evenly spread, they did a great job. It took everything in my power to not "fix" it after they were done. Good job Lily and Raphi! (seudo names of course) Yesterday we decided to go up Parley's Canyon and hit Gargoza Park for some sledding. I invited some friends from work (Patsy and Ray). We got all bundled up and picked up baby Jack (we call him that because there is another little boy in our lives that has the same name) and hit the road. After 45 minutes or so of driving, we arrived. Baby Jack was so cute when we put the goggles on him.
The hills were pretty fun. They didn't seem all that steep though. I wish we would have gone down a little faster. It was worth going since they towed you up the hill and there was no hiking involved. Wait in line for a tube, hook up to the line and be released at the top.
One more picture of Baby Jack in the goggles playing "snow fight" with his Auntie Melissa.
Lily and Raphi waiting in line. They are too cute!
I hope everyone had a great holiday season!

Such a slacker at blogging lately!

So it's been a while since I blogged. Sorry! Not much to really report. We had our Thanksgiving! We actually ate at my moms house this year. On even years, we eat with my mother and step-dad. On odd years, we cook dinner at our house and Melissa's family joins us. Dinner was amazing as always and it was nice to visit with my nephews.

Zach and Erik

The Sunday after Thanksgiving, we had our own dinner. Becky B was in California visiting her brother (who just got home from Iraq) for Thanksgiving so when she got home we had our own dinner with her and her kids! It was good food once again!

Last weekend we took a little road trip to Boise. Melissa's grandfather lives there as does one of my nieces. We usually go at least once a year to visit them all.
Here is a picture of the sunset as we were driving up there. It was beautiful. The picture below does it no justice.Me and my mom on the drive upMy mom and niece Courtney. They look so much alike it is scary! Melissa, Courtney and meCourtney's sister Haley!
Before we came home, we had to get Melissa's grandfather a new TV so he will be able to watch PBS in February. Lucky him, with the new digital stuff, he gets like 4 different PBS channels. He is in heaven I am sure!Melissa, grandpa and M's mom Pat

Sunday Riding!

We decided to take the bikes out today near our house. Since we live so far west, there is a place right by our house where you can ride. The weather was amazing and I was already so sore I could hardly move (from football yesterday). So I figured, "what will it hurt?". Well, it hurt everywhere. Anytime I try to get off the couch, I sound like a 90 year old lady. But it was well worth it. Here are some pics from today!

Jaxon, we can't wait until he is old enough to ride!

We had a great time and hope the weather holds out so we can come again before it snows. Hell, we may even come after it snows.

2008 eBay Turkey Bowl

The eBay Turkey Bowl was yesterday. We were the reigning champs! So we get up early on Saturday morning to make it to the field in time. We had a great time but came up a little short this year and took 2nd place.

If I was just a foot taller!

And the aftermath of an elbow in the eye socket.

God I love football and can't wait for our women's league to start in February.

What do you do when the weather outside sucks?

Answers:
Do Somersaults

Dress up like a viking!

Play with your train set!

Invite the boys (Phil & Ted) over to school you on Guitar Hero!

These guys play on expert! It makes me dizzy just watching them play. I couldn't imagine what would happen if I tried to play. My head would probably start spinning around like the girl on Exorsist!

Halloween

So we had a few visitors show up at our little spook alley this Halloween. I love to decorate for Halloween and Christmas. We usually sit and scare kids and have a good time. This year, I had to work. Luckily I can work from home. I only got a few pictures and here they are. Jaxon kissing Jason (Melissa)
My cute little niece Sophia (Minnie)
My step-dad John and my nephew Max (Ironman)

Nephew Jaxon (Scarecrow)
Raphi (Optimus Prime)

My brother in law Chuck (Elf) I laughed so hard!
My niece Annie (Witch)
My sister Aly (Witch as well I think)
Our little spook alley
A good time was had by all! I am so glad the majority of my family came by. My brother Chris and his wife Pam also came by with their daughter Lacie. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of them.

Frightmares at Lagoon!

We did a trip to Lagoon for Frightmares this last Sunday. I know Lagoon isn't that "big" of a amusement park. However, I have to say we are getting more rides that are on the "edge". The new roller coaster "WICKED" was soooooooo fun. I won't lie, I was a little scared when we got closer to the front of the line. Nothing like being shot out of a tunnel and up 110 feet straight up and then straight down. It sends you through so many twists and turns after that. All I can say, is I couldn't wait to get back in line to go again. We need to make it a point to go to Lagoon at least once every year. It was so fun.

The kids had a blast and I am happy to say I was able to win them both a stuffed tiger. I never thought I could break so many plastic plates with a pretend baseball. My throwing arm was right on! It only took $8.00 to get both of the stuff animals. I hope they liked them!

Happy Birthday Mom

The picture above is my mom. Yesterday was her birthday. There are not enough words to explain how important my mom is to me. I would just like to take the time to thank my mom for a few things.
1. Giving birth to me
2. Taking care of me so well when it was just the 2 of us after my parents divorce
3. For spoiling the crap out of me my whole life (I am the youngest and only girl)
4. For giving the lecture "no smoking" at the age of 8. (I remember it mom even though it didn't work)
5. For allowing me to be me and not forcing me into anything I didn't want to do
6. For waking up early on Saturday mornings to make sure she didn't miss one single baseball/softball game I played in
7. For still coming to my softball/football games even though I am almost 36 years old.
8. For putting up with my grandmother day in and day out
9. For putting up with my brother day in and day out
10. For loving me unconditionally no matter what!!!

Mom, I love you more than anything and want to wish you a happy birthday.

Until I blog again, ROCK ON and PEACE OUT!

Softball Tournament

We had a softball tourney this weekend in sunny St. George. We had a great time. We are playing for a new team called Athletic Edge. I really like the girls on the team. They are all fresh out of college and make me feel like an old lady. I have the majority of them beat by at least 12 years. But I think I manage to hold my own. Not bad for an old lady about to turn 36. Here are a few pictures.
Tournament started Friday night. We ended up winning our first game by a ton of runs. The second game we decided to leave our bats in the dug out and lost 17-9. We just didn't hit well.
On Saturday, we played 3 additional games. We won our first 2 and lost our 3rd game. That knocked us out of the tournament. It sucked because we only lost 1-5. It was such a defensive game. To only have 6 total runs scored in a slow pitch softball game is crazy defensive. It sucked to lose but it helped get us to Mesquite for an evening of gambling a little sooner.

I should be putting up the Halloween decorations around the house this week. Watch for pictures.

Laughing

I laugh everytime I see this picture. Check out the kid in the ORANGE shirt. I don't think he even knew what he was doing to be honest.

Such a cute little birdie. I know it is hard to see. The kid to the far right with his hand on his chin is doing the Filipino sign for "gwapa". This means handsome. All the kids posed everytime I took their picture. I miss the kids!

How to keep your dogs warm in the cold Utah weather

The weather has not been so nice since I returned home. My dog Sydney is pretty spoiled and doesn't go outside very often. Usually just to go to the bathroom and back in. We purchased a cute fleece jacket for her last year. Now when she goes outside, I will have to put this on her since she is so spoiled. Here is a picture of her with our friend Becky's dog Nalo.
She looks so happy and comfortable in it.

Nalo simply looks cute as!

Not much more to update on at this point besides our softball tournament yesterday. We ended up playing 7 games during the tournament. Two on Friday night (no snow) and 5 on Saturday (with lots of snow and wind). We ended up taking 2nd place. Not too bad for a bunch of old ladies and a few young men!
